Although it was proclaimed as the Italian Capital of Culture in 2023, Brescia is mostly known for being a highly industrialized city and one the country’s wealthiest towns. Few however know that Brescia homes a rich heritage of art and history, lively streets, a vibrant food and drink scene, and… incredible Roman remains!

This tour will let you discover the totally unexpected Roman side of Lombardy’s second city, once called Brixia.

We will stroll through the city’s charming center, retracing Brixia’s Roman aspect and discovering its hidden gems of its medieval age.

We will start from the renaissance Piazza della Loggia with its beautiful astronomical clock built in 1546 and walk through history: we will visit Piazza della Vittoria in fascist style, the square with the two cathedrals with the old cathedral with its medieval charm and the pegol tower until we reach the Piazza del foro with the temple built by the ancient romans and the remains of the ancient theatre.
